You’ll also create a few smaller trinkets, giving you multiple hand-forged pieces to take home.

This is hands-down our students’ favorite class. In this full-day course (starting at 9:30 AM and usually wrapping up around 5 PM — though we often go later depending on the pace of the group), you’ll learn everything that goes into forging a knife from start to finish. Lunch is included and comes from one of our favorite local spots — think Mexican, deli sandwiches, pizza, and more. We’ll guide you through every step of the process: from beveling and tapering to mastering forged-to-finish fundamentals. You’ll also learn how to avoid common pitfalls like stress fractures, inclusions, and micro-fractures — plus we’ll take a deep dive into internal grain structure and metallurgy basics. If you’ve ever wanted to forge your own blade — a knife with a soul, shaped by your raw strength and willpower — this is the class for you.
